The following data protection notice is intended to provide you with information about the type and scope of the processing of personal data by ZAPP-ZIMMERMANN GmbH. Personal data is any information that is or may be assigned directly or indirectly to your person.
Data processing by ZAPP-ZIMMERMANN GmbH can essentially be divided into two categories:
- For the purpose of contract processing, all data required for the execution of a contract with ZAPP-ZIMMERMANN GmbH will be processed. On our website we offer the option to subscribe to our newsletter. In order to ensure that no mistakes have been made when entering the e-mail address, we use the so-called double opt-in procedure: After you have entered your e-mail address in the registration field, we will send you a confirmation link. By clicking on this confirmation link, your e-mail address, first name, last name and country will be added to our mailing list. 4. Use of the contact form
In order to contact us in a quick and easy manner, we have provided you with the option of using the contact form on our website. The following data is collected: Company name, last name, first name, address, telephone number and e-mail address.
The inquiries are forwarded to the relevant department within the company for processing. Your data will not be used for any other purpose.
5. Online presence and website optimization
5.1. Automated processing of data
When using the areas of our website that are publicly accessible without prior registration and authentication (“logging in”), each access and each retrieval of a file deposited on the website is logged by the server on which our website is located. The storage serves internal system-related and statistical purposes, e.g. to better tailor the website to customer needs. The following are logged: Name of the retrieved file, date and time of retrieval, amount of data transferred, notification of successful retrieval, web browser, operating system and requesting domain. In addition, the IP addresses of the requesting computers and the Internet pages from which you visit us are logged. We are not able to assign this data to specific persons. This data is not merged with other data sources. The data is deleted after its statistical evaluation and is not passed on to third parties.
The legal basis for the processing of IP addresses is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest follows from the purposes of data collection listed above
5.2. Cookies
We collect and store data on our website in anonymized form for the purpose of making our website as user-friendly and attractive as possible for you. For this purpose, we use so-called cookies pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Our interest in optimizing our website is to be regarded as legitimate within the meaning of the aforementioned regulation. Cookies are small text files that are sent to your browser and stored on your hard drive to enable recognition of your visit, among other things. The cookie stores information that arises in connection with the specific device used in each case. However, this does not mean that we thereby obtain direct knowledge of your identity. 5.3. Google Analytics & Google Fonts
For the purpose of demand-oriented design and continuous optimization of our pages, we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”), on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. In this context, pseudonymized usage profiles are created and cookies are used. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website, such as the

- time of the server inquiry,
are transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The information is used to evaluate the use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website and Internet use for the purposes of market research and demand-oriented design of these Internet pages. This information may also be transferred to third parties if this is required by law or if third parties process this data on our behalf. Under no circumstances will your IP address be merged with other Google data. The IP addresses are anonymized so that an assignment is not possible (so-called IP masking).
You can prevent the installation of cookies through a corresponding setting in your browser software. We point out, however, that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of the website to their full extent. Google Fonts
Fonts (“Google Fonts”) of the provider Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, are integrated on our website. This is done on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, whereby our legitimate interest lies in the optimization and economic operation of our website. To enable the display of certain fonts, a connection to a Google server in the USA is established when our website is called up. This allows Google to determine from which website your request has been sent and to which IP the display of the font is transmitted.
Google is certified in accordance with the EU-US Privacy Shield and thus guarantees that the data protection requirements of the EU are also complied with when processing data in the USA

5.4 Social-Media-Plug-ins
We use social plug-ins from the social networks Google++, Twitter, YouTube, Xing and LinkedIn on our website on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in order to make our company better known via these. The underlying promotional purpose is to be considered a legitimate interest within the meaning of the GDPR. Responsibility for data protection-compliant operation is to be ensured by their respective providers.
5.4.2 Twitter
Plug-ins of the short message service Twitter Inc. are integrated on our website. You can recognize the Twitter plug-ins by the Twitter logo (a white bird on a blue background). When you call up a page of our website that contains such a plug-in, a direct connection is established between your browser and the Twitter server. This informs Twitter that you visited our website with your IP address. If you click the Twitter button while you are logged into your Twitter account, you can link the contents of our site on your Twitter account. This makes it possible for Twitter to associate the visit to our website with your user account. 5.4.3 YouTube
We use the provider YouTube to embed videos. The operating company of YouTube is YouTube LLC, headquartered in the USA. The plug-ins are marked with a white arrow on a red background.
We use plugins from the provider YouTube on our website. When you click the YouTube button, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. This transmits which of our Internet pages you have visited to the YouTube server. If you are logged in to YouTube as a member, YouTube assigns this information to your personal user account. When using the plugin, such as clicking the start button of a video, this information is also assigned to your user account. You can prevent this assignment by logging out of your YouTube user account and other user accounts of the companies YouTube LLC and Google Inc. before using our website and deleting the corresponding cookies of the companies.
5.4.4 Xing
Our website uses the “Share function” of the XING network. The provider is XING AG, Dammtorstraße 29-32, 20354 Hamburg, Germany. On our website, we continue to use the “Share Function” of the LinkedIn network. The provider is LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. If you click on the LinkedIn “Share Button” (plug-in), you will be redirected to your user account in a separate browser window – provided you are logged into your user account at LinkedIn – and can share the electronic publication deposited on our website by adding a comment. The plug-in establishes a direct connection between your browser and the LinkedIn server. This informs LinkedIn that you visited our website with your IP address. In addition, it is then possible for LinkedIn to associate your visit to our website with you and your user account. We have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted (personal) data or its use by LinkedIn. 6. Empfänger außerhalb der EU
With the exception of the processing operations described in Section 4, we do not pass on your data to recipients located outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. The processing operations mentioned in Section 4 result in the transmission of data to the servers of the providers of tracking or targeting technologiescommissioned by us. These servers are located in the USA. The data transfer is carried out according to the principles of the so-called Privacy Shield as well as on the basis of so-called standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. 7. Your rights
7.1 Overview
In addition to the right to revoke your consent given to us, you are entitled to the following further rights if the respective legal requirements are met:
- Right to information about your personal data stored by us in accordance with Article 15 GDPR
- Right to rectification of inaccurate data or completion of correct data in accordance with Article 16 GDPR
- Right to have your data stored by us deleted in accordance with Article 17 GDPR
- Right to restrict the processing of your data in accordance with Article 18 GDPR
- Right to data portability in accordance with Article 20 GDPR
7.2 Right of objection
Under the conditions of Article 21(1) GDPR, data processing may be objected to on grounds relating to the specific situation of the data subjects.
The above general right to object applies to all processing purposes described in this Privacy Notice that are processed on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. According to the GDPR, we are only obliged to implement such a general right of objection if you provide us with reasons of overriding importance for this (e.g. a possible danger to life and health).
